Developing Personal Confidence

Confidence is a personal attribute that must underlie our ability to operate effectively in all aspects of  our lives.  If we don’t believe we can do something, no matter our level of competence and experience in that thing, it is unlikely that we will  be able to do it;  or even if we do, we will tell ourselves a story which minimises our belief in ourselves, eg ‘I just got  lucky’.

Confidence is not only about believing in our ability to do things, it is also about accepting ourselves when we are not able to do something.   We are all imperfect;  accepting our own limitations with grace, feeling OK to say ‘I don’t know’, or ‘I cant do that’ is a true demonstration of a deep level of confidence.

We are all confident in some situations and not confident in others.  In this workshop we will explore

  • What confidence is and how ‘looking confident’, even if we don’t feel it, can increase our level of confidence
  • How to take the feeling of confidence that we have in some situations to other situations where we really need it
  • How to develop our overall level of confidence

Confidence is a life skill which we never stop learning, and so this workshop is relevant for anyone who feels they would like to develop their confidence further.    My  aim is that by the end of the workshop participants will truly be able to say of themselves ‘I am OK’
