Ali has worked for more than 30 years in the Middle and Far East and in the UK in a variety of roles in or closely related to performance and or education. This includes work with other creative practitioners to devise and deliver workshops for children and adults with profound physical disability and non native English speakers of all ages and abilities as well as devising and directing performances and working with the powerful techniques of forum theatre.
In 1995, back in the UK permanently she completed a Masters Degree in Applied Theatre. This reinforced her passionate belief that theatre and performance are an invaluable tool in personal interaction and encouraged her to develop her practice in Forum Theatre and Creative Workshops. This has led to a wide range of experience and a recognition that individuals and groups thrive when given the tools and support to identify and develop solutions and techniques appropriate to them and their individual situations. Over the years she has also developed an unshakeable belief that participants work best when placed in the role of ‘the expert’ in a safe and enjoyable environment.
Ali has worked with individuals and groups including senior executives, many of whom return of help with new projects; groups of professionals from various NHS Trusts; a variety of organisations in the city ; the financial sector; groups involved in customer service; prisoners and language learners as well as individuals preparing an important presentation or facing a challenging interview.
